Agriculture under the Mughal Empire remain important part of the economy, but the crop and techniques still remained largely unchanged. Though irrigation was largely absent, some areas did have access to canals and water works. Varieties of food and cash crops were grown like cotton and silk. Also tobacco, introduced in 1604 also became an important cash crop. One negative aspect was that they didnt make any major efforts in agricultural development. the impact was that the citizens were subjects to various famines which led to large scale of migration of the population within the empire and sometimes they even left india. When the Mughal Emperors did try to do something to solve the problem it was a case of too little too late.

Transportation were improved during this dynasty. There were several metalled highways reacting various places of the empire. Bridge constructed to speed up the movement of land transport. While some permanent bridges were built during the mughal period, fords, ferries, and boat bridges continued to be primary important in the plains, and rope suspension bridges and wooden plank bridges in the hills. The reason boat bridge was important was because it could be raised and lowered, and expanded and contracted in region where the river courses frequently change unlike permanent bridges. Also the boat bridge were more effective from miltary standpoint in the time of constant warefare, because it could be disassembled when enemy advanced but could aso quickly reassembled when desired. also river transport were used for transportation for navigable trips. This type of transportation was a cheap and fast way of transporting goods over long distances. besides carts and pack animals such as bullocks and camels, human porters were a major source of transport power carrying individuals and objects of amazing weights.

Art flourished in the Mughal especially during Akbar's reign. Paintings were one of the major achievement of the Mughal Period because before than paintings have never been one of the great attainments of Indian culture. The reason behind this was that paper wasn't introduced to India until later part of 14th century from Persia, and before that they were traditionally done on palm leaves which really didnt have artisitic creativity. By 15th century transition from plam leaf to paper was made, stimulating a brust of creativity. The "Akbar Style" was used during this period, and it combined Persian and Indian motifs, and used extended space, portrayal of physical human action. Also Akbar encouraged imitation of european art forms, including the use of the portrayal of Christian subjects, the use of perspective, lifelike portraits, and the shading of colors in the renaissance style. This type of painting style outraged the Orthodox Muslims but Akbar argued that this would spread knowledge. So this style was used in "Akbarnama" ( " Book of Akbar" ) which narrated historical key event of his reign.
Architecture was undoubtedly the Mughals' most visible achievement. It integrated Persian and Indian styles in a new beautiful form. The monuments were decorated with geometric patterns, delcate stones, colored precious stones, and dazzling floral mosaics. the mughal architecture consisted of archs, domes, tower, indentures, and carvings. The buildings were tall and enormous and it showed the power of the Mughals. The Taj Mahal is the best symbol of their architecture work. It was built by the emperor Shah Jahan.

The Battle of Hoogly (1632) The Muslim Mughal ruler Shah Jahan against the European Christian Portuguese.
Shah Jahan ordered an attack on the city of Hoogly, a fortified Portuguese trading post with cannons, guns, and other instruments of war, on the Northeastern coast of India. the reason the Mughals wanted the Portuguese to lose the control of Hoogly was because the Portuguese profited from half a century of triangular trade between India, China, and Various countries in the Middle East and Southeastern Asia and if the Portuguese would have happen to lost the city, it would decline their influence in the region. Because the Portuguese would convert some peasants of those places to Christianity by force and others through greed and sent them off to Europe in their ships. These improper action of the Christians of Hoogly port remain on the emperor's mind and so he was determined to restore the true religion and eliminate infidelity. Also remove the corruption of these abnominators from the region.
